This varied garden is sponsored by the merchants of the Park and Tilford Shopping Centre. It was established by Schenley's Distilleries in 1969 to demonstrate quality plant selections and possible design solutions to incorporate into personal gardens. There is a staff on site that runs general gardening classes and can answer questions. There are several sub-gardens including Italianate, pergola, and a botanical garden. The Asian garden is actually a melange of Japanese and Chinese elements, as if constructed using a checklist. The construction materials are of only moderate quality and the composition leaves much to be desired.
This perfectly still
Spring day bathed in the soft light
From the spread-out sky,
Why do the cherry blossoms
So restlessly scatter down?
